It is with this Purpose in mind that Veolia’s day-to-day business is conducted.

Since its creation in 1853, Veolia has been working to improve public health and quality of life, starting with the supply of drinking water, which is essential to life, and then wastewater treatment, waste management and energy supply.

In providing these environmental services, we are convinced that continuing human progress is only possible if economic, social and environmental issues are addressed as an indivisible whole.

The Purpose, formulated in April 2019, is based on the conviction that has guided the company since its creation.

By placing Purpose at the heart of its activities, Veolia acts for its stakeholders: Planet, Society, Shareholders, Clients and Employees. With this in mind, we have formulated our strategic program GreenUp 2027, adopting "Multifaceted Performance" as a framework for decision-making and performance management centered around our Purpose. By reconciling our efforts to address environmental challenges—such as climate change, circular economy, and biodiversity preservation—with business growth, we contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

### Creating a Sustainable Future with 15 Priority Objectives

Under Multifaceted Performance, we have defined 15 priority objectives and quantitative KPIs to measure progress across five performance corresponding to each stakeholder. These include objectives directly linked to solving environmental and social challenges, such as reducing CO2 emissions, contributing to a circular economy, and preserving water resources.

To benefit all stakeholders, we aim to deliver balanced results across all performances: Environmental, Commercial, Economic and Financial, Human Resources, and Social. Particularly in environmental performance, our highest priority is to hand down a sustainable planet to future generations through the realization of a low-carbon society and the efficient use of resources.

Through the 15 priority objectives and quantitative KPIs, we clarify the actions to be taken and the management of progress toward achieving our goals, working to deliver results and achieve them promptly.

Multifaceted Performance requires us to properly consider and balance the expectations of all stakeholders in every action and decision we make, driving the transformation and creation envisioned by our Purpose.

Together with our customers, Veolia is committed to responsibly and concretely advancing the "continuous improvement" approach demanded by our Purpose and Multifaceted Performance.
