Fuelling the Supply of Renewable Energy

Wood-fired biomass

Veolia diverts waste wood to a waste to a resource, by operating the biomass power plant. In the form of waste wood biomass represents one of the most practical options available for green energy.

We have biomass energy solutions that deliver electricity to the grid, provide renewable heat for industry and district heating and provide electricity and heat.

Hanamaki Biomass Power is the biomass power plant Veolia provides state of the art operation and maintenance services to produce power distributed to the grid. There, we are reusing the timbers from forest thinning or woods damaged by weevils to transform them into renewable energies. This generates enough electricity to supply approximately 20,000 meters.

We are also producing renewable energy in Tsugaru Biomass Power, where we utilize the timbers from forest thinning as well as apple brunches trimmed in the growing process.
